Vehicle manufacturers tend to extend the factory immobilizer system with a system that blocks the possibility of turning the steering wheel. It is an electromechanical lock that is combined with a driver recognition system.
This solution causes a lot of problems for car users, but also for service providers performing routine inspections and repairs of these vehicles. Since it is a combination of electronics and mechanics, there are many elements that degrade in the process of use.
Failure of such blocking causes 2 main problems:
- Inability to start the car
- It is not possible to tow the vehicle to the place of repair due to the blocking of the steering column
